Treatment Available at Duke City Recovery Toolbox Integrated Healthcare

Duke City Recovery Toolbox Integrated Healthcare is not the only clinic in Albuquerque, New Mexico that offers medication-assisted treatment for opioid dependency. However, we are one of the only clinics that provides the services and types of treatment needed to meet the needs of our participants and our larger community.

How Our Treatment Helps Individuals

Duke City Recovery Toolbox Integrated Healthcare understands that life doesn’t always fit into normal business
hours. That’s why many of our outpatient services—including methadone treatment—are available early in the morning and late in the evening. We offer flexible scheduling to ensure our clients can receive the care they need at times that work best for them.

Treatment gives individuals the opportunity to heal, rebuild, and create a better quality of life. It does more than address substance use—it helps people understand the reasons behind their addiction and teaches healthier ways to cope with stress, pain, and daily challenges.

Through counseling, medication-assisted treatment, and ongoing support, individuals can:

  • Regain control of their lives and make positive choices for their future.
  • Improve their mental and physical health, often reversing years of damage caused by substance use.
  • Repair and rebuild relationships with family, friends, and loved ones.
  • Develop coping skills to manage triggers, cravings, and difficult emotions.
  • Gain confidence and self-worth by setting and achieving personal goals.
  • Build stability through support with employment, housing, and education.

Treatment empowers individuals to move forward with hope, purpose, and the tools they need to maintain long-term recovery.

How Treatment Helps Families

Addiction doesn’t just affect the individual—it impacts the entire family. Treatment helps heal those relationships by creating understanding, trust, and open communication. Families learn that recovery is a journey that everyone can be part of.
Through family counseling, education, and support, loved ones can:

  • Rebuild trust and repair relationships damaged by addiction.
  • Learn healthy boundaries that encourage recovery instead of enabling addiction.
  • Understand addiction as a medical condition, not a moral failure.
  • Develop communication skills to better support their loved one in recovery.
  • Find emotional support for their own healing process.
  • Strengthen family stability and create a healthy home environment for everyone.

When families heal together, recovery becomes stronger and more sustainable. Treatment not only changes one person’s life—it brings hope and healing to everyone connected to them.

How Our Treatment Helps Our Community

Treatment benefits the community in many ways. It helps reduce crime and incarceration, as many offenses are connected to substance use. Too often, individuals serve jail time without receiving the
treatment or support they need. When released, they return to the community without the tools or knowledge to rebuild their lives, leading many to relapse or reoffend simply to meet their basic needs.

At Duke City Recovery Toolbox Integrated Healthcare (DCRT), we provide a wide range of support services designed to help our clients develop the skills and confidence to become productive, thriving members of our community. :

Some of the support services we offer include:

  • Individual and group counseling to address the root causes of addiction and promote lasting recovery.
  • Peer support from individuals who have walked the same path and can offer guidance and
    understanding.
  • Case management to connect clients with community resources such as housing, employment, and education.
  • Life skills and relapse prevention classes to help clients build stability and independence.
  • Medication-assisted treatment (MAT), including methadone and Suboxone programs, to support recovery safely and effectively.
  • Family support services to strengthen relationships and rebuild trust.

Together, these programs empower our clients to create positive change in their own lives—and in our
community as a whole.
